SwipeClean Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
SwipeClean ("the app", "we") is a free photo decluttering app supported by ads. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. If you have questions, contact us at info@bluejanuary.com.
Your photos never leave your device
- SwipeClean reads your photo library only on your device to show your photos one at a time.
- Photos, thumbnails and photo metadata are never uploaded, copied to a server, shared with advertisers, or used for advertising.
- The app has no accounts. The only server we run is the one that serves the Discover feed (see below); it never receives your photos or any information about them.
- Photos are deleted only when you tap "Delete all" in the Review bin and confirm the system dialog shown by iOS or Android.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps a small local database on your device containing:
- The IDs of photos you chose to keep or staged for deletion, and their file sizes.
- Your statistics: photos reviewed, photos deleted, storage freed and your daily streak.
- App settings, such as when an ad was last shown.
- The Discover feed and link previews, which Discover posts you have already seen, and when you last skipped or opened a partner card (used only to vary what you're shown).
This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Discover feed and partner links
- The Discover tab downloads a feed of posts (tips, news and partner offers) from our server. The request contains no personal identifiers (at most an app key that is the same for every copy of the app); like any web request, the server can see your IP address and device/browser type in its standard logs.
- Some posts are partner (referral or affiliate) offers, always labeled "Sponsored" or "Partner". If you sign up or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- To show a partner post as a link preview (in Discover, or as a card in the Swipe deck), the app loads the beginning of the partner's web page, at most about once a day per link plus when you pull down to refresh. This request carries no identifiers or cookies, but like any web request the partner's site can see your IP address and that the request came from SwipeClean.
- Tapping a post, or swiping a partner card right in the Swipe deck, opens the partner's website in an in-app browser. That website is not operated by us and has its own privacy policy; it may use cookies to track the referral.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
SwipeClean is free because it shows ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To deliver and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- Device and advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA, only if you allow tracking).
- IP address (used to estimate general location), device model, operating system and app version.
- Ad interactions, such as impressions and taps on ads, and diagnostic data.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK does not receive your photos or photo library contents.

Your choices and consent
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: on first launch you are shown a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform, IAB TCF v2). You can accept or decline personalized ads. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Progress → ⋮ → Ad privacy settings.
- iOS: the app asks for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, your IDFA is not shared and ads are non-personalized.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
- US state privacy laws: where applicable, opt-out signals are honored through Google's restricted data processing.
Permissions
- Photos / media: required to show and delete your photos. Granting limited access (selected photos only) is supported.
- Tracking (iOS only): optional, used for ad personalization.
- Internet: used only to load ads, the consent form, the Discover feed and its link previews.
Children
SwipeClean is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always available in the app (Progress → ⋮ → Privacy policy) and at the URL listed on the app store page.
